Individual relationship therapy in Denver, CO & online

Understand your patterns.

Relationships shape how we see ourselves and how we move through the world. Even when we are not currently in a relationship, our past experiences, especially painful or confusing ones, can continue to influence how we connect, trust, and respond to others.

Individual relationship therapy is a space to understand your own relational patterns more clearly, so you can begin to create relationships that feel more aligned, intentional, and fulfilling.

My approach

Much of this work involves exploring relational trauma. This can include experiences where connection felt unsafe, inconsistent, or confusing, as well as patterns that developed over time in important relationships. These experiences often shape how we interpret others, what we expect from relationships, and how we respond when something feels off.

Together, we work on unpacking past relationships with care and clarity. This is not about assigning blame, but about understanding how your experiences have shaped you. As that understanding grows, we also focus on taking responsibility for your current patterns: what you notice, how you respond, and the choices you make in relationships today.

My approach is grounded in mindful self-compassion. As you begin to see your patterns more clearly, it is important that this awareness is paired with care rather than judgment. You are not trying to fix yourself. You are learning to understand yourself in a way that creates space for change.

I bring my relationship-focused perspective into this work to help you explore what you actually want from relationships. This includes identifying your values, your needs, and the ways you want to show up with others. From there, we work on building the skills and awareness needed to move toward those kinds of relationships.

Sometimes, this work needs to happen individually. Whether you are currently single, in a relationship, or navigating something in between, this is a space to focus on your side of the dynamic and create meaningful change from within.

Is this right for me?

This work may be a good fit if you notice recurring patterns in your relationships that feel difficult to change. You might find yourself drawn to similar types of dynamics, struggling with trust or vulnerability, or feeling unsure how to express your needs.

You may also be processing the impact of past relationships, including those that felt hurtful, confusing, or difficult to move on from. Or you might simply want to be more intentional about how you show up in relationships moving forward.

Individual relationship therapy is especially helpful if you want to focus on your own growth, whether or not your partner is involved in the process.

What to expect

In our work together, we will explore your relational history and the patterns that have developed over time. This includes looking at how you interpret others’ behavior, how you respond emotionally, and the strategies you have learned to protect yourself.

You can expect a mix of reflection, insight, and practical application. We will use mindfulness and self-compassion to help you stay grounded as you explore more difficult experiences, and we will work on identifying new ways of responding that feel more aligned with your values.

Sessions are collaborative and paced intentionally. There is space to process, but also a focus on helping you make meaningful shifts in how you approach relationships in your day-to-day life.

Over time, many people notice greater clarity, a stronger sense of self, and more confidence in their ability to build and sustain the kinds of relationships they want.
